All items available in The Happy Housesitter shop are produced on a ‘Print On Demand’ basis. This means that each item is custom made when you order it based on the information you provide in your order. Therefore our returns policy is slightly different to what you might expect to see in a high street shop selling mass produced items.
Misprinted, Damaged or Defective Items
Any claims for misprinted/damaged/defective items must be submitted within 30 days after the product has been received by email to the email address included in your order confirmation.
Goods deemed by the manufacturer to be misprinted/damaged/defective will be reprinted and dispatched as soon as possible at our cost.
This includes goods where the wrong size has been dispatched e.g. you ordered medium and a large was sent. This does NOT include where you have ordered the wrong size (see below).
Goods Not Received
Lost In Transit – for packages lost in transit, all claims must be submitted no later than 30 days after the estimated delivery date. Claims deemed an error on our part are covered at our expense.
Wrong Address – if you provide an address that is considered insufficient by the courier, the shipment will be returned to the production facility. You will be liable for reshipment costs once we have confirmed an updated address with you.
Unclaimed Parcels – shipments that go unclaimed are returned to the production facility and you will be liable for the cost of a reshipment. You have 28 days to request the reshipment of the returned parcel. After 28 days you will have to repurchase the item at the full price plus shipping as any unclaimed items are donated to charity after 28 days.
Exchanges and Returns of Unwanted Items
Wrong Size – all apparel products have a sizing chart included in the product description. It is your responsibility to ensure that you order the correct size. We recommend measuring an item of your own clothing that has the desired fit then ordering the appropriate size based on those measurements. If after receiving your order you wish to exchange an item for a different size, you will be liable for a restocking fee and the cost of shipping the new item. We will notify you of the exact amount when you make your request.
Unwanted Items & Buyer’s Remorse – as all our products are custom made to order, we cannot give refunds or exchanges simply because you have changed your mind. If you do decide to return an item that isn’t faulty, you will be responsible for the postage costs. If you request a return, this will be less a restocking fee that will be advised to you prior to you returning the item. If you request an exchange, you will be responsible for return postage, be charged a restocking fee and be responsible for the shipping costs of the new item.
